Fluid Pixel are currently packing up and moving offices. We have outgrown our offices at Phoenix Building, Middlesbrough although we have really enjoyed our time here but we feel we need to be closer to City life and have found really cool offices in Newcastle. So we are leaving the land of the "Parmo" which we will miss having every Friday lunchtime! to the land of Anthony Gormley and new experiences! We have released two new games this week one being THE Final Countdown - which is a cool little Countdown app to countdown the football games Italy are playing in the World Cup. The other being the fantastic Official FIGC Azzurri Penalty game. Both are visually stunning, excellent playability and on sale now from both Itunes for the iPod & iPhone or the Nokia Ovi store.

Volcano Insurance?!

We are considering taking out Volcano Insurance here at FP HQ. If its good enough for Peter Griffin its good enough for us! What with stranded staff and traffic chaos! But seriously, we are all hard at work on our new FIGC Azzurri Football Games to notice the clear skies above and the jaffa cakes are mounting up as we scramble to the deadlines. Not long now until four new games are released stay tuned for more info.

Enterprising Young Brits Final 2010: Vote Now!

After having a very successful few weeks Stuart Varrall has gone to Boston, USA. Sounds exciting, although its not a holiday its to attend the UK Trade & Industry Mobile Mission Event. We would like to give special thanks to David Hughson and his team for all of their help arranging this trip and we will give updates soon.

We are very proud to announce that we won the Creative Industries Award last night at the Best New Business Awards Ceremony held at Middlesbrough Football Stadium.

We had a great night and we are really happy to receive this award which is an acknowledgement to us of all of our hard work.

We are luckily one of the 40 creative companies operating in the north to have become involved with the interactive initiative being carried out by BBC @North.

This is a very exciting time for us at Fluid Pixel and we seem to be having all the luck this week. We will keep you posted about this project but in the meantime find out more information at the link below.

We came into work this morning to find that we had been shortlisted for the National Digital Awards which is being ran by DediPower! We are understandably very happy about this and we are one of four Companies who could win this prestigious award. We all have our fingers crossed this end and it would be a great achievement and acknowledgement of all the hard work we do this end - we will keep you posted.

Fluid Pixel are proud to announce the release of See-View the revolutionary 3D image browser which we have made in collaboration with See Fish. This week at Fluid Pixel HQ we had The Guardian Newspaper in for a cup of tea and a chat. We were asked about our thoughts on the recession and how Fluid Pixel are doing etc. The interview has now been put on the Guardian Website (link below) labelled: "Creative Hope in recession-hit Middlesbrough". Fluid Pixel will soon be launching a Fluid Pixel Brands website.Which will include Official Azzurri football games approved by the FIGC. You will soon be able to register for updates but in the meantime, get in touch for more information, on our Contact Page.

Fluid Pixel have secured the official Flash and iPhone license for the Italian National football team and are developing some exciting new games. We're delighted to be working with Bad Halo, IMG and FIGC on this project, we're sure it'll lead to some great new content. Keep an eye out, we'll release more information in the coming weeks or get in touch if you want to get involved.

Fluid Pixel have been nominated as one of the candidates for the Creative Industries Award. The winner will be announced on Monday 22nd February 2010 and we have all of our fingers and toes crossed at this end! We will keep you posted if we win!

We were all very sad to hear of the massive job cuts that have occured recently in the local area.

We have however been lucky enough to expand our team over the past several months with the additions of Jamie Stewart (Senior Programmer), Louise Grayson (Personal Assistant), Stuart Farnaby (Games Programmer) and Gavin Woods (Gameplay Programmer).

We're excited to have these guys on the team and hope they all have many happy years here.

We have had a fantastic 2009 and have lots of exciting projects to look forward to in 2010!

We recently went on a trip to Brussels for their Annual Design Event which was a great insight. A big thank you to Karen Stone from Design Event and Stuart Jackson and his team in the North East England Brussels office. I was made really welcome and throughly enjoyed my time there.

Our latest iPhone game Cleopatra that came about from the trip to Tahoe last year has just been released onto the Apple App Store.

Also, ImobiGo, the mobile marketing company in conjunction with Tony Solon has also now received funding from NStar to enable it to get through the proof of concept stage and we're looking to secure some additional funding to take it to market. Development on this will start in the new year 2010!.

This month Fluid Pixel are starting work on an exciting multiplatform Flash game, Animentals. Designed by Foof Productions of Sleeze Brothers fame, this exciting new IP has the backing of Adobe and Nokia through their Open Screen Project and NStar Finance.

The first incarnation will see life on Nokia mobile devices, before other platforms will follow closely behind.

With all the sad news currently about job losses and the state of the economy, we're doing our best at Fluid Pixel to make the best out of the situation. So much so that we've just expanded the team with the addition of David Wilson, a Junior Programmer. David is going to be working on our in game Flash multiplayer, multiplatform (yes web and mobile) engine for use in a number of exciting internal and external projects we've currently got on the go.

KamiCrazy is now available worldwide on the iPhone App Store for the great price of £2.39/$3.99 and is getting some real attention from review sites and positive feedback from ratings. If you haven't already, then do take a look and give it a go, we're sure you'll love it!

We're keeping a close eye on feedback and have already updated the game once, so if there's anything you think can be improved then please let us know.

Today is the day that we officially launch the KamiCrazy website for our upcoming release on the iPhone and Ipod Touch of KamiCrazy. A platform puzzler that will test your skill and brainpower over 40 exciting levels. Take a look at the website for more information and also check out the development blog for an exclusive look behind the scenes. It's currently being reviewed by Apple and should be on the App store shortly, along with a demo version with 8 full levels.

Ok so it's not the same as winning, but we're proud to announce that Fluid Pixel is runner up for the national UK Business Incubation Awards 2008, piped to the post after making down to the final 4. We didn't get a prize, but it did get us a nice black tie dinner in Bristol and a talk with Evan Davis, economist and now Dragon's Den presenter. All in all a great evening and well worth the trip...

Fluid Pixel have received a bit of coverage recently, most prominently being interviewed by Jemima Kiss from the Guardian as part of a podcast(right at the end). Also in a video podcast by Ewan MacLeod and the team at Mobile Industry Review at the recent Symbian Smartphone Show in London.

After a successful first year Fluid Pixel have moved premises to the brand new Phoenix Building in Middlesbrough. Just a stones throw away from our previous location, but a world apart in class it's a positive move towards an even brighter future for the company. We were delighted to be a part of the Make Your Mark and BERR event for entrepreneurs in London this week. A joint event including an inspiring award ceremony for some of the brightest young entrepreneurs and a session to discuss the future the governments enterprise strategy. It was also the official launch of the Global Entrepreneurship week attended by Gordon Brown and Carl Schramm. It was a very interesting event, and the attitude of the government towards entrepreneurship is encouraging for the future. Watch the video of the Prime Minister's speech.

Fluid Pixel Studios is off to China to exhibit at the 3rd China International Software Products Expo in Nanjing. Leaving on the 30th Aug and returning on the 7th Sept. We hope to be meeting some great companies at this event and will post any developments from our time there.

Fluid Pixel Studios is trying to give something back to the great Flash Lite community by getting involved with the UK Mobile and devices User Group UK Mobile and devices User Group. The group was started recently by Matt and he has done a great job getting it off the ground and useful for the community, and our aim is to try and help build on his success.

After an intensive "Dragons Den" style pitch, followed by 6 weeks training, mentoring and plenty of hard work, Fluid Pixel Studios have been awarded the top business award from Nesta. We are proud to have taken part in the Insight out course, which is designed to drive forward promising businesses. During the course we have had the opportunity to work with some great people, and companies and wish to thank everyone who was a part of the great experience.

We attended a networking event in Newcastle promoting the exciting opportunities in the North East to Korean Companies. At this event we had a chance to discuss the distribution of our games in the Korean market.

The typing game developed for a competition involving the upcoming PSP keyboard has won a prize. We entered a game for the competition on the FITC web site and are honoured to have received a prize bundle including PSP accessories and UMD films.
